2Paths worked with World Vision Canada to conduct a discovery phase for a Grant Monitoring and Evaluation functional prototype.
World Vision Canada is a global relief, development and advocacy organization. They partner with children, families and communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
World Vision Canada’s vision was to create a monitoring and evaluation system that allows specific internal teams to measure grant performance across the entire portfolio and to communicate grant success across projects, particularly by sector.
To understand the vision and scope of the project, 2Paths, with our creative partner DesignStamp, conducted stakeholder interviews of key World Vision Canada staff to determine the current landscape and business problem and identify the needs of the organization around monitoring and evaluation.
We then architected a multi-component technical solution to the business problem, leveraging World Vision Canada’s current technological infrastructure, and existing health-system record management software DHIS 2. Our architecture envisioned middleware between DHIS 2 and a new Grant Monitoring and Evaluation Tracking System which addressed the business needs of the organization. In addition to the core functionality, we incorporated optional components into our architecture that addressed longer term business goals, such as an Indicator Registry.
Also as a part of the scoping round, we provided budgeting estimates for building out the architected system, and provided comprehensive documentation of the user interviews, user journeys and high-level architecture of the proposed system.
