SENIOR JAVA SOFTWARE DEVELOPER


As a developer you design, develop and maintain customized software that we create for our clients.






What You Do:


Design


    

  • Gather Business Requirements

Technical skills and experience you should have:


Senior: 5-10 years of experience in software development


    

  • Exposure to a variety of software development approaches i.e. waterfall, agile, etc.
    • 

  • Experience living and loving agile (scrum, XP) development
    • 

  • Experience living and not loving waterfall software development
    • 

  • Experience with back-end technologies such as: Java, Spring, Hibernate, Grails/Groovy
    • 

  • Continuous integration, testing, and automation experience
    • 



Education:


    

  • A Bachelor Computer Science or related degree/diploma, or equivalent experience
    •

TECHNICAL ARCHITECT/LEAD


You’ll be working in a deeply drinking agile development team, helping  to unstick the sticky technical bits. You are responsible for the  technical solution from an application and system perspective but  remember you and the team develop the solution – this isn’t an ivory  tower architect role. Everyone codes too. You’ll be working with  business owners, members of the team and our partners to elicit business  requirements and informing the general technical solution. This is 50%  business analysis, 50% technical architecture and software development.

Technical skills, knowledge and experience you should have:


* At least 8-10 years of software development experience using a  variety of programming languages and technical environments including  Java

* Must have lived part of your life in the Java/open-source world

* Experience maintaining production applications and systems – you’ve  lived the school of hard-knocks.

* Expert level knowledge of current lightweight, enterprise, and web  technologies – you’re breathing it all deeply and have informed  opinions.

* Experience living and loving agile (scrum, XP) development

* Experience living and not loving waterfall software development

* Proven ability to quickly evaluate and assess the suitability of new  technology for a given for a given business problem, or to adopt in our  development practices

* Proven experience creating technical designs and architecture

* Familiarity with user-centred design process

* Experience mentoring, coaching and leading a development team

* Experience with direct client contact and conducting business analysis  to determine potential solutions


Education you should have:


* Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent diploma/degree or  equivalent work experience
